Initially, the company started as a cab service with a unique approach to providing high-quality vehicles with the best service at affordable rates. With the development of the country’s situation, we have expanded our services as a tour operator too. Now we are catering to both local and foreign customers to fully fill their transportation and travel requirements. We are based in Kandy and have around 50 vehicles on the road to offer the best possible service.
We use both chauffeured and self-driving vehicles. Experienced tour guides are available, and we can help you plan your trip to Sri Lanka, including hotel reservations. Mahaweli provides service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Our services start with airport transfer services and go up to train ticket reservations, city tours, wildlife tours, sightseeing tours, adventure tours, and much more. We have our own fleet of comfortable luxury vehicles for the tours that we organize. You can select the vehicle type best suited for your trip.
We offer some vehicles on a self-driven basis too. Airport transfer services from Colombo to any destination in Sri Lanka are available at the most competitive rates. Special discounts apply when you book both transport and accommodation through us. We work with most of the hotels in Sri Lanka, from small homestays up to the most luxurious ones. +94777 111553I had an excellent experience going from Colombo to Galle/Mirissa with Mahaweli tours. This was my second trip with Mahaweli and I highly recommend the company (and will use them again and again when I return to Sri Lanka).
Theekshana was my driver for a day trip that included a boat ride on Madu River, and stops at Mirissa beach and Galle Fort. Theekshana was friendly, professional, and an excellent travel companion.

I arranged a 6 day tour with mahaweli while traveling in Sri Lanka. Everything turned out great. I had already decided which places i wanted to visit so it was super comfortable to have my own car and driver. I visited a lot of places and I always felt safe and comfortable. My driver Kingsley spoke fluent English so the communication was very easy. He picked me up and dropped me of where ever I needed. He also gave my suggestions and showed me places that I didn't really think of. I couldn't be more happy with the service that I got, and I would definitely book through Mahaweli tours again. If you want to get the most out of your vacation I highly recommend this company.
Amazing tour. We were not in the usual pickup area but transport was arranged for us. The company was very responsive and easy to deal with. We saw many animals but in particular lots of elephants. Our guide was knowledgeable and easy to communicate with. Thanks so much.
