Ramboda Ella Waterfall is another beautiful tourist attraction in Sri Lanka. It is situated in the Nuwara Eliya district of the Central Province. The waterfall is very popular among local travelers. It is 109m in height and is considered the 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka.
There are three parts to the waterfall. It is the upper fall, middle fall, and latter fall. Locals call these falls “Ihala Ramboda Oya Ella”, “Meda Ramboda Oya Ella”, and “Pahala Ramboda Oya Ella”. You cannot see the upper fall to the Kandy-Nuwara Eliya A5 Road. You will need to walk on a footpath for around 1.5km to reach there. The second fall is situated just after the Ramboda tunnel. It is a superb spot for bathing. But you need to walk down to the downward footpath to reach the latter fall. You cannot see it from the main road. If you can go to the Ramboda Falls Hotel, then you can see the beauty of the third fall very nicely.
The elevation of the Ramboda Ella Waterfall is 945m above sea level. The distance from Kandy is 55km and from Nuwara Eliya is 25km. From the upper falls, you can observe the Kotmale Valley, Mahaweli Maha Seya, and Kotmale Reservior. It is so nice and scenic.
Puna Ella, Dunsinan Falls, and Peacock Hills are some of the other tourist attractions nearby. You can come to Ramboda Ella Waterfall during your Nuwara Eliya City Tour.
